ASTRO DOG'S FIRST LATE-NIGHT SPRING-TIME STARGAZING EVENT!

ASTRO DOG'S FIRST LATE-NIGHT SPRING-TIME STARGAZING EVENT!

OUR FIRST SPECIAL LATE-NIGHT SPRING-TIME STARGAZING EVENT! WE HAD SUCH A WONDERFUL NIGHT! 🤩💖🐶🛰🔭🌸🌿✨️

We had an absolutely wonderful time during last night’s special late-night spring-time stargazing and moongazing event.

As there was no risk of rain, we also had the opportunity to set up our newest and largest aperture telescope. It was great to be able to use our largest aperture telescope to get a closer look at some amazing late spring-time celestial treats.

We welcomed our guests to our cozy little stargazing hub in the forest as nautical darkness set in and were treated to crystal clear skies all night.

Our guests enjoyed a nice hot drink followed by a laser guided tour of the night sky looking at the spring-time’s most prominent asterisms and constellations. We took a close-up look at a range of celestial objects through a selection of our large aperture telescopes, including views of open star clusters, globular star clusters, planetary nebulae and of course last but not least, the Moon. Some of our guests even got to see some meteors (aka shooting stars) too!

The time of year coupled with the fact we could use our largest telescope, also meant we all got to take a look at a planetary nebula that we've never viewed during any previous Astro Dog stargazing events too. It was amazing to share this celestial treat with our guests using the powerful magnifying capability of our new catadioptric telescope. It was the first time we’ve ever had such a close up look at the incredible Ring Nebula at one of our events and it looked spectacular.

We then all witnessed a wonderful pass of the International Space Station as it zoomed below the Moon (from our point of view). After viewing the ISS travel across the sky, we headed inside for a virtual tour of the night sky using planetarium software, a night photography and astrophotography presentation and a special little out of this world treat at the end.

It was an amazing evening and such a great start to the first of our spring-time late-night public stargazing events. We would like to say thank you to all our guests who attended, we loved meeting you all, as did Luna. Thank you for a wonderful night. 😊💖
