THE 47% ILLUMINATED MOON VISITS SATURN TOMORROW MORNING! - 19/06/2025
Here’s one for those early birds or all night stargazers!
Early tomorrow morning, a special celestial meeting will be taking place! In the early morning hours of the 19th of June, the 47% illuminated last quarter Moon will pay a close visit to the amazing ringed planet Saturn.
From central UK, the Moon and Saturn will appear to be separated by just over 1.5 degrees at closest approach.
WHEN TO LOOK
A bit before sunrise, you will be able to spot the Moon rising above the Eastern horizon at roughly 01:09 BST in the early morning twilight skies. A short while later, Saturn will rise above the horizon at roughly 01:25, appearing just below the Moon. At around 02:30 the two luminaries will reach their closest to each other, and Saturn will fade from view as the Morning skies become brighter.
WHERE TO LOOK
Look towards the Eastern horizon during the early morning hours before sunrise, and you will be able to locate the Moon and Saturn both appearing in the zodiacal constellation of Pisces the fish.
