ASTRO DOGS CELESTIAL ADVENTURES TO DALBY FOREST LAST NIGHT. INCLUDING AN ATTEMPT TO IMAGE SUNSPOT REGION AR3664, THE SUNSPOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INCREDIBLE AURORA DISPLAY ON FRIDAY ππππβ¨οΈ
We have been desperate to capture images of the amazing sunspot region AR3664 that was responsible for the incredible Aurora display visible up and down the country last Friday evening.
However, sadly we werenβt able to do this during our trip to Stonehenge as we left our solar imaging equipment back home. Largely because it was a spur of the moment trip and we were only meant to go for one night, but kept extending our stay in hope of clear skies! :β)
Yesterday evening we managed to find a spare moment to travel to our cozy stargazing hub in Dalby to collect some of our equipment and were hoping to image the Sun before sunspot region AR3664 rotates out of view.
We then quickly made our way to somewhere close by with a clear view of the Sun and attempted to capture some images of the Sun.
Unfortunately just as we set up our solar telescope and imaging equipment, the Sun disappeared from view behind cloud and didnβt re-appear before sunset.
While we didnβt manage to capture a shot of this region, we are looking forward to engaging in more solar imaging throughout the summer.
Here's an image of our set up and a few photographs of Luna AKA Astro Dog enjoying the Sun during our visit to Dalby Forest. ππ
