NEW LATE NIGHT STARGAZING EVENTS NOW AVAILABLE!!!

SPECIAL LATE NIGHT ASTRO DOG STARGAZING EVENTS IN MAY NOW AVAILABLE! JOIN US IN DALBY FOREST FOR A MAGICAL EVENING OF LEARNING AND GAZING AT THE HEAVENS UNDER THE WARMER LATE NIGHT SKIES OF MAY! πŸ’–πŸ€©πŸš€πŸ”βœ¨οΈ

Following the end of our standard public stargazing events season, we had quite a few people asking us if we planned to hold any stargazing events throughout May, the May half-term holidays and beyond.

Usually, we tend to end our programme of public stargazing events in April due to the darker skies not being available until late at night. However, due to the amount of people asking us about events at this time of year we gave some thought about the possibility of holding a few special events for those that were interested.

NEW STARGAZING EVENT DATES!

And so, due to popular demand we are happy to announce that we have added a handful of late night public stargazing event dates to our website for people to book onto for the month of May including the starting weekend of the May half-term holidays!

LATE NIGHT STARGAZING

These events will be held during the late evening and will run past midnight into the next morning. Due to our skies becoming dark later in the night during May, these events will be starting between 10:45pm and 11:00pm in order to make the most of the dark skies available to us at this time of year.

ASTRO DOGS FIRST LATE NIGHT EVENTS / POSSIBLE OTHER EVENT DATES

These new late night starting times will be a first for us and these events will be an interesting trial as we normally hold events much earlier in the evening during the darker (and colder) months. However, if these events generate enough interest and prove to be popular we may also consider holding a few more events during Summer.

CELESTIAL TREATS IN OUR LATE SPRING SKIES

The late Spring time night skies offer a different array of celestial treats to gaze upon compared to our usual Autumn/Winter stargazing events, with the added bonus of nights being much warmer! We are excited to be sharing these late Spring night time wonders with our guests for the first time at our events!

There is a wonderful array of celestial treats to view including stars, star clusters, the Moon, galaxies and nebulae to gaze at with our large aperture telescopes (weather permitting of course!).

DALBY FOREST + THE NORTH YORK MOORS, IDEAL LOCATIONS FOR STARGAZING

All of our events take place at our cozy Stargazing Hub located in the heart of Dalby Forest - Forestry England and the North York Moors National Park. Dalby Forest and the North York Moors are home to beautiful vistas by day or night and are idyllic locations for stargazing.

Dalby Forest - Forestry England itself is a designated Milky Way class Dark Sky Discovery site and in December 2020 The North York Moors National Park was awarded an International Dark Sky Reserve Status by DarkSky (formerly known as the International Dark-Sky Association). This makes the North York Moors National Park one of only twenty one such International Dark Sky reserves in the world and an excellent place to view the wonders of the night sky.

GIFT CARDS ALSO AVAILABLE

We also have gift cards available on our website. Our gift cards can be used to book onto any of our available stargazing event dates and have no expiry date. The perfect gift for the stargazing enthusiast, nature lovers, fans of sci-fi and those with a general fascination with all things space.
