Translating to "Field of the Sky" in Spanish, the Campo Del Cielo strewn field spans over 60km across the Gran Chaco region of Argentina and is estimated to have fallen to Earth over 4,000 years ago — though the meteorite itself formed 4.5 billion years ago alongside our solar system. Indigenous peoples of the region knew of these iron masses long before European settlers arrived, making each fragment a piece of both cosmic and human history. The iron and nickel within it were forged in the heart of a dying star long before our solar system existed — making it only fitting that this fragment now rests at the heart of a silver star.
