Stonehenge Spring Milky Way | Photography Print

In the early hours of 10th May 2024, we captured this photograph of the Milky Way core aligning beautifully above one of the world's most iconic landmarks — Stonehenge. This image is a composite of two exposures captured moments apart: a long tracked exposure of the Milky Way, and a separate exposure of the stones, seamlessly blended together to create an image of extraordinary detail and clarity.

This shot was the result of careful planning — and no small amount of patience. We made the intentional journey to Stonehenge specifically to capture this image, returning night after night as persistent mist rolled in at the critical moment when the Milky Way aligned above the stones. During those long nights beneath the Wiltshire sky, the security guards on site came to expect our nightly visits — and if you look closely, you can spot them on the right hand side of the stones.
