WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE A NEW ASTRO DOG PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION! WE ARE PROUD TO BE TAKING PART IN THIS YEARS SCARBOROUGH LIGHTS FESTIVAL WITHIN THE BEAUTIFUL SETTING OF SAINT MARY’S CHURCH! 🥳💖🌠🔭🌙✨️
NEW EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Following the end of our second photography exhibition, we are delighted to announce that we will be hosting another night-photography and astro-photography exhibition throughout November and the start of December!
ASTRO DOG TAKING PART IN THE SCARBOROUGH LIGHTS FESTIVAL
This new photography exhibition will be part of a special event that will take place in the incredible historical setting of St Marys Church as part of the Scarborough Lights festival.
Scarborough Lights is an amazing festival that aims to bring people to Scarborough and offer unique light themed experiences that can be enjoyed by all during the darker nights in the run up to Christmas.
There’s lots of interesting events and activities taking place during the Scarborough Lights Festival and we are very excited to be taking part!
“REFLECTIONS” – A COLLECTION OF LIGHT THEMED ARTWORKS, INSTALLATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
As part of the Scarborough Lights festival, Astro Dog will be joining Animated Objects and Adrian Riley to host “Reflections”. Reflections will be a unique collection of distinct artworks, installations and experiences, each centred around the theme of light and dark.
JOIN ASTRO DOG FOR A CELESTIAL ADVENTURE
Within this exhibition we will be exploring the beautiful lights that nature has to offer.
We would love to invite you all to join us on a celestial adventure, a journey through space and time. Exploring the cosmic beauty of the night sky. From the beauty/splendour of a moonlit ocean, to blackened skies adorned with stars, to the majesty of the Northern Lights dancing above the quiet cliff tops.
Take a closer look at the jewels of the night sky from millions of lightyears away, such as distant star clusters, nebulae and galaxies.
Marvel at nature’s own fireworks from lightning strikes to meteors and stunning atmospheric phenomena that paint our skies in all of the colours of the rainbow.
FEATURING PHOTOGRAPHY, TIMELAPSE FOOTAGE, ART INSTALLATIONS, PLANETARIUM DOME EXPERIENCE, SPACE THEMED GIFTSHOP AND MORE!
We will be displaying some of our favourite photographs that we have captured on our celestial adventures across Scarborough, Dalby Forest, the North York Moors National Park and beyond. This exhibition will include some new never before seen photography from our recent celestial adventures! All of our photography at this exhibition will be displayed in a way that you've never seen our photographs before. Each illuminated to give them a magical glowing aesthetic.
We will be showcasing some of our timelapse video footage, featuring the majesty of the Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights, the Milky Way and more. Inviting the viewer to step into and share our celestial adventures with us in a different way.
Alongside this we have been working on 3D light box art pieces inspired by our celestial adventures. This is something very new for us and we are looking forward to sharing this with you.
Accompanying our photography, timelapse videos and 3D art will be atmospheric lighting, sound and music.
IMMERSIVE 360 PLANETARIUM DOME EXPERIENCE!
On top of all of this we will also be allowing guests the opportunity to enjoy our immersive 360 degree planetarium dome experience, including a short immersive film and a short virtual tour of the night sky!
ASTRODOG PHOTOGRAPHY PRINTS AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE
In the past, we have been asked many times if we have prints of our photography available, and should you wish to take home some of our work, prints of all of our photography will be available for purchase.
GIFT SHOP
We will also have a little space themed gift shop which will include a variety of space themed goodies including real meteorites aka space rocks! As well as Astro Dog merchandise! Perfect for space themed Christmas gifts!
ARTWORKS BY ANIMATED OBJECTS AND ADRIAN RILEY
Our exhibition will also be joining special artwork installations created by, Animated Objects and Adrian Riley.
The Tree of Dedications, Reflections and Memories by Animated Objects - The softly illuminated branches of the tree hint at the architecture of the distant past, each adorned with a multitude of stars created by local residents, dedicated to or in the memory of a person or place that is close to their heart.
Light in Darkness by Adrian Riley - A visual meditation, inviting the viewer to look, and read, and wait, as softly glowing neon words slowly appear and disappear, sometimes individually, sometimes concurrently, sometimes overlapping, forming phrases and taking on new meaning and nuance.
WHEN AND WHERE
“Reflections” will be running across 3 weekends during the Scarborough Lights festival. The event will take place at Saint Mary’s church between 5pm and 9pm on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting on the 15th of November up until the 1st of December.
