SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! – ASTRO DOG IS TAKING PART IN THIS YEAR’S BIG IDEAS BY THE SEA FESTIVAL - JOIN US FOR A SPECIAL IN DEPTH PRESENTATION ON THE AURORA BOREALIS/NORTHERN LIGHTS!
As some of you may know we have been dedicated Aurora hunters for many years now. We have been religiously chasing, studying and capturing images of the Northern Lights for over a decade. Over our years of Aurora chasing, we have witnessed many incredible displays and learned a great deal about the history and science surrounding the Northern Lights.
Some of you may also know we have a great passion for helping others learn about the wonders of the Universe and the amazing light displays that can be seen in our night skies. It makes us very happy to be able to help people learn about the wonders of the cosmos and those of you who have attended our stargazing experiences over the last few years will know that our love and passion for chasing the aurora is where it all began for us. We have been intending to create a special aurora night since we began hosting our stargazing experiences, which is why we are thrilled to be able to announce a special event that will take place this May.
And so… we are super excited to announce that Astro Dog will be taking part in this year’s Scarborough Big Ideas by the Sea festival with a special presentation on the Aurora/Northern Lights!
THE AURORA BOREALIS/NORTHERN LIGHTS – AN IN DEPTH PRESENTATION WITH ASTRO DOG
This special event will take place at 19:30pm on the Spring bank holiday (Monday 26th of May) within the beautiful and historic setting of Saint Mary's Church Scarborough. The presentation will feature some of our Aurora photography and timelapse sequences that we have captured over our years of Aurora chasing including some brand-new photographs that no-one has seen before!
Throughout the presentation we will be discussing about the history and mythology surrounding the Aurora, looking at the science behind the Northern Lights, talking about how to be able to predict auroral displays plus giving hints and tips on how to capture images of the Northern Lights.
As part of the Big Ideas By The Sea festival, we will also be exhibiting some of our photography in Saint Mary's throughout the festival too. In this photography exhibition we will be displaying some of our Aurora photography along with some of our images of other night sky wonders. Our photography will be displayed in special illuminated frames, giving them a magical glowing aesthetic.
