As many of you know, we have a great passion for night photography, astrophotography and of course the beautiful Northern Lights. While we have always loved the night sky, night photography and aurora chasing is where our celestial adventures really began. It was around ten years ago now that we captured our first photographs of meteors and the Northern lights and we’ve been hooked ever since.
When preparing for our first ever photography exhibition at the Shakespeare Gallery as part of the Scarborough Art festival we were delighted to have been asked if we would like to exhibit our work at the Picturesque Gallery above the Picturesque Framing shop on St Johns Road.
Picturesque Framing is an excellent framing shop, Alex does amazing work and if you have any pictures that need framing we can highly recommend Alex and Picturesque! The upstairs gallery space at Picturesque is lovely too and we were absolutely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to exhibit in this beautiful space.
OUR SECOND PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
And so, we are very excited to announce that we will be hosting our second ever Astro Dog night photography and astrophotography exhibition at Picturesque Framing!
We had never printed our photography before this summer, and have been so excited to do so for the first time and to be able to share our photography with you all.
Our exhibition will be free to attend, and will not require pre-booking. We will be displaying some of our favourite images that we have captured on our celestial adventures across Scarborough, Dalby Forest, the North York Moors and beyond, including some images that many of you will have never seen before!
CELESTIAL ADVENTURES EXHIBITION
We would love to invite you all to join us on a celestial adventure, a journey through space and time. Exploring the cosmic beauty of the night sky. From the beauty/splendour of a moonlit ocean, to blackened skies adorned with stars, to the majesty of the Northern Lights dancing above the quiet cliff tops. Take a closer look at the jewels of the night sky from millions of lightyears away, such as distant star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. Marvel at nature’s own fireworks from lightning strikes to meteors and stunning atmospheric phenomena that paint our skies in all of the colours of the rainbow.
DATES AND TIMES
Our exhibition at Picturesque Gallery will take place throughout the rest of August and September and will be open from 9.30am to 5.30pm every day except Sundays.
ASTRODOG PHOTOGRAPHY PRINTS AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE
In the past, we have been asked many times if we have prints of our photography available, and should you wish to take home some of our work, prints of all of our photography will be available for purchase from Picturesque too.
Photography prints are available in a variety of sizes, different coloured mounts and can be framed on request.
Special orders for prints can be taken at the exhibition or by contacting us, and soon prints will be made available on our website too.
GIFT SHOP
We will also have a little space themed gift shop which will include a variety of space themed goodies as well as Astro Dog merchandise.
